With fear of being spammed asking this, how would one go about choosing a mentor? Looking for one via any search, well im sure all know what that would spit out.
Appreciate looking at forums can offer loads of information, but id really like someone who is actually doing well from all this financially who will offer constructive guidance, answer quesitons, offer suggestions and generally, well, mentor me. sorry if this is the wrong place (general section) but thought it would be interesting to see what people offered in the way of advice in finding a decent, reliable, approachable mentor with the skills insitu to guide. and are these mentors usually free/cheap/expensive?

Any suggestions??(please dont bombard me with inbox messages offering your services though, this is a genuine need and wish to find a genuine mentor and if i was so lucky that that person was reading this, well by all means get in touch)

Do you know any successful business people? Ask them to help you.

A great mentor doesn't need to be in the same business (as you).

Good advice crazy rob, thanks. But i think i need someone with the knowledge base AND the interest in the affiliate market world. Im at school studying new media and the lecturers there do have a lot of technical knowledge, but when i ask them "the relevance of ping" or link-building strategies, they look at me like, why are you even interested in that, and dont give much help in that area. Things like, is that site a daft idea as i chose the keywords based on something that i now know was incorrect as my knowledge expands. And of course loads more. So really want someone from this industry. But very good idea yes, i do have a few mates who do ok in their businesses and do pick their brains from time to time.

    Kind regards

    Alan
