Tools in your Cpanel can provide you more details. I think Google tools provide just the keywords used through Google and not all search engines maybe Yahoo as well.

    Yes,
    1. Google Analytics provide you all the keywords from all the recognized search engines people are typing and landing into your website. You can check your rank for those keywords manually. It includes all recognized search engines and not only Google. It is a great service because it has many more features along with this one.

    2. Google webmaster tools is another tools which help you get crawled by google and keep track of all crawling statistics and take control over crawling errors. This tool also provides you the keywords rankingwise for which you are top ranking, it however does not provide number of clicks for every keywords and works only for google search engines.

So the conclusion is that you can use the both tools combines and achieve an excellent monitoring of your SEO campaigns.

Google webmaster tools and Bing webmaster tools both allow you to see the queries that people are searching for to reach your site. They also include keywords for which you are getting 'impressions'. Of course Google Analytics can give you the visitor details too.

Google Analytics is a full and comprehensive tracking package and one of the best available and will show all referring sources (and a lot more besides)
Google Webmaster tools, however, is specifically about showing you how Google sees your site, and how it performs in Google.

Yep, Google Analytics is the standard, not to mention that it's free! There other good ones out there, but why pay?

my preference is for google analytics, an important metric is that of bounce rate try to keep it low and if you see a high bounce rate for a term look at what is wrong on that page..

I use analytics to see what people are finding my site for then use micro niche finder to find synonyms of that word to optimise for.

I would say google analytics and google webmaster tools as all of you said. This is the best way to know which keyword is mostly searched by people for your site.

If you are talking about the keyword research, then first analyze your business, then find out your leading competitors. This will give you the idea about what you need to target. And for finally keyword research you can use google adwords keyword research tool.
