Google Analytics is what I use. Its free plus it tells you where your traffic is coming from.

Awstat in your Cpanel is what I use also to compare what Google Analytic is picking up but nothing is completely accurate when you use free tool but these two are good enough for my business

Google analytics can cause problems with SEO and page ranking - particularly if you want to do affiliate marketing.
Guru's like Greg Jacobs (of Mage) suggest never using google analytics
Instead I use the free open source Piwik for tracking - then everything is under your control - http://piwik.org/

Hey I just installed Piwik on all my sites. Thanks for that great advice! Wordpress also had a plugin too so that helped. Open Source is much better.

    There are loads of tools:
    Google Analytics
    Alexa Site Ranking
    Google/Yahoo/Bing Webmaster Tools
You can even track the number of sales but I'm not sure if this applies to your situation or not.

I use statcounter. It really works great to let you know what keywords your traffic is using to find you, what pages the traffic visited and much more.

I personally believe in google analytics. They have worked really fine for me. There is no harm in trying it and then checking if it works for you or not.

I currently use Google Analytics, Google Webmaster Tools and Raven Tools. GA merges into Raven Tools so you can track keywords better.

Google Analytics tells you how many people came to your site.

There is also software that monitors where you are in the search engines and reports how you've risen or dropped.
