Not really any way to tell...you may be able to check against the IP of the website and see how many websites are hosted on that same IP (some webmaster tool sites show general/vague information about this based on NS records and such). If you see tons and tons of other websites hosted on the same IP, likely it is on shared hosting, but its still not a clear cut way of determining this.

you can check that particular domain pointed to any general dns and use domaintools.com to check how many domain use that ip or dns.
specifically, I don't think you can have any clue about this

Yes , you can find but not all the sites.
Open Domaintools.com and check the whois of that site. You can check nameservers here , If the nameservers are different from the url of that site so it is on Shared Hosting.
If the nameservers are the same , So that it's a Reseller OR maybe VPS or may Dedicated Server.
Then , go to the Servers Stats here the company name will be written , this company will be the company of the reseller. So , it's a way to find out reseller. I don't know the way to find VPS and Dedicated but maybe there's a way.

The Best way i would say is to use any free reverseip service like that of domain tools. but domain tools does not list all hosted websites, until you give your credit card :)

    I use logontube.com
its a free service and will list all websites hosted on that server irrespective of its count...there are even servers which host more than 50k websites. :D

There a lot of tools online to check at least if it is using a shared hosting. For VPS or dedicated server is not that easy. may be use traceroute to see as most of the providers are using OpenVZ and easy to trace via the hardware node.

Differentiating between VPS and dedicated is difficult from the outside, but you can check the site's IP address, and then see if there are any other websites using that IP address around the web (DNS search / A Record check, etc). This would indicate a shared host.

Try to use mxtools.com and check the difference aspects of the server, however it might be difficult to have some real answers.
Why not ask to the hosting provider directly? They are the only one's that can really answer you that :)

Nope. There is no way to find out if the site is hosted in shared hosting/VPS OR Dedicated Server. If the domain is using nameservers(DNS) of shared server, it may have been pointed to VPS/Dedicated Server with A record. So, you will never get definite result.
