    Hi

Suppose if we r doing article submission in a website then what are the points which we have to check before in that site?

Just like that site should have good PR, back links etc....

    Waiting for quick response!!!

    Thanks in advance

    Regards:eek:

Good PR doesn't mean necessarily much (unless you study how the site got that PR). Bad PR has more meaning.

You should check traffic estimations (i.e. Alexa rank) and references to that site along the web. If we're talking about blogs, check Technorati reactions.

The quality of a website should be based on the "content" and nothing more. Regardless of elaborate designs and fancy javascript inserts 98.9% of the time a website's value is based around it's "content". Generally websites with unique quality rich content will already have a high pagerank value due to all the inbound links; you should also see the site's web pages appearing in search results.

Alexa is useless and spyware. ;)

I would differ with you there. "content" is king for 'most' of the web but not all of it. gmail doesn't have any content and it's the cutting-edge javascript that makes it a favorite.

Quality means different things to different people. Some of the commonly cited measures:

    1. PR
    2. Alexa Rank
    3. Number of backlinks
    4. Unique visitor count
    5. Frequency of updates
-- probably not relevant for getting a link back --
    6. User interface and navigation
    7. Uniqueness of content

Last I checked crawlers couldn't read javascript, also gmail is a password protected area that robots do NOT go into. The whole concept of a search engine is to find the "content" your looking for and what people use to give quality to a website doesn't mean it's the proper way.

When it comes to article directories quality, then I use only one main criteria and that is the page rank.
Yeah, many people will say, PR is worth less :) I know, PR is no use when it comes to generating traffic.

But the reason is that, I have done article submission few months back and I still do it.

I used to have a huge list of article submission directories, over 800.

I started to submit to all of them. Some sites were already parked when I opened them.

Some never accepted any articles as there was no body to do that :)

Some had problems with submissions, there was no waiting for article apporval in some sites, but after I submitted the articles, I never found them in the site

Some sites were closed as I visited them again.

In the end, I only had a list of about 100 article directories.

But this list soon decreased to 30, because I couldn't find even one backlink from the 70 article directories in google webmaster tools and no link in yahoo site explorer and not in any online back link checking tool.

Then from the 30 article directories, now there are only 16 left.

Because some article directory even use a no follow tag, for example

    searchwarp.com
    articlesbase.com

All 16 article directories (that are left in the list) have a very good PR. Almost all other article directories had low or no PR.
I suggest you only submit articles to high PR directories and the ones that don't use nofollow tag.

Submitting to hundreds of article directories is a waste of time.

I have submitted 100+ articles to high PR 16 article directories, and in return I got back links (Even a PR 4) plus I get a constant traffic from some articles.
