How to check PR?

Discussion in 'Search Engine Optimization' started by tom13, Sep 28, 2009.

I have a few website's up & running. Some of which have been going for a few years now, but until joining this site today, I never realised 'PR' was used so commonly.

Where can I check the PageRank of my sites? And can anyone explain what is a good PR, and what's a bad PR? :)

The fact is that you probably don't need checking the PR of your sites. It indicates too little, although somehow people tend to pay too much attention to it, the attention they might have spared on some of the other worthwhile activities. PR (the value that is displayed in the Google toolbar - that's where you can check it, by the way if you still think you have to) may be fun to watch, but only if you have nothing better to do. PR may be one of the rankings factors (it is questionable to what extent though), but it is still the actual PR, not the one you can check. The toolbar PR is a reflection of the past - it indicates what the lay of the land was a while ago, which might (and probably will) have changed.

TOM13 PR means Page Rank. There are thousands of places where you can check the page rank. There is nothing like good PR and bad PR. Page rank is a valuation by google it ranges from 0 to 10. If you want to check the page rank of your site then i will recommend that you use http://checkpagerank.net/ tool as it will give you a clear picture of all the details about your site.

you can download the google toolbar which will show you the PR of each page you visit.

Google PR is only useful when you are looking for sites to link from.Sites with high PR pointing to your site will greatly improve your search engine rankings

The best way is download google tool bar and install it on your browser. You can then see a crazy green bar on the tool bar. Just point your mouse over it and it will tell you the PR of that page.

There are many different sites and tools that will allow you to check pagerank, but the best thing to do is install Google Toolbar, this way you can view every sites PR, including your competition.

I am using Google tool bar since years. Whenever I open a new page, I quickly check the Page Rank of the site. It indicates me, how important the site is and what quality content I might find.
