    Here are the things u can check at the end of 30 days : # of pages indexed by Google; # of backlinks in Google ; # of backlinks in Yahoo; PageRank (highly doubtful that it'll increase in 30 days);

    Finally: Traffic - first time and repeat visitors; and time spent on the site (for the ultimate goal of seo is to increase traffic and conversion)

    For checking the number of pages in google type Site:www.yourdomain.com, for links type link:www.yourdomain.com and the same goes for yahoo.

    You can check your traffic by installing counters that can check your daily traffic... example of it are statcounter.com and google analytics...

    This two are the best checker for daily traffic or visits...:D

    From an SEO standpoint, there will be very little results after 30 days for a new site.

    Check to verify that the site has been indexed by Google, Yahoo, and MSN.

    If the site is new, then you are in the "sandbox" for 6 months if this rumor is true. If the is an old site that has SEO edits made to it, then you will see movement in the SERPs for your keywords. Take your top 25 keywords and run them thru a Google search. If they are not in the top 100, then your SEO was not good or the page has not been indexed yet.

    Finally, no matter how good your SEO is, a page without traffic does not rank very well. Consider using the traffic from PPC to increase your organic pages.

    Also check if you are listed in Google and Yahoo! as well as check your PR in the next update.

    its very early to check traffic results from a months SEO done unless u target has less competiton.. u can track backlinks, cached pages in Major SEs

    You should placed statcounter tracking code to your website so that you can track all your visitors and then analyse ur strategies.

    You should check site position on Google, yahoo and MSN in a week. If position of your site is increasing then you are good work of your site neither
    you have not good work on your site.

    SEO is aimed at getting better SERPs for one or more keywords. So the best test is to see if your SERPs are improving for the keyword you're basing your SEO on.

    I am pretty sure that you will be able to tell what kind of progress you are making by seeing what page on google you are when you search some of your keywords.
