Hi, I would like to know how many website links to mine on google. The problem is that when I use command link:www. my domain .com google will list all pages linking to me, even my website's pages. Do you know how can I exclude my own domain from the search so that I will get the real number of pages pointing to me? Thanks, Irongloves
Basically, you'll never get real number of pages linking to you from google. It is a well known fact that google does not show all backlinks. but try http://www.google.com -site:google.com You'll get some results but not all.
We use SEO studio to check our links. We had 1700 and rated better than fun.com I belive you can use the term link:yoursite.com But as mentioned this will not give you an accutate amount of links.
Google does not show all websites linking to you. If you want to see all website check on yahoo.com with link:domain.com. Here you have option where you can exclude your own domain name.
I think most simple way you can see the links to your site is by sit:yoursite.com you will get the links status.
google is giant of search engines, it has many tools inside that normal users dont know, try it site:yourwebsite.com it will list all your sites for specific result tr this site:yourwebsite.com keyword just type keyword after domain, it will show result from your website for given keyword
Use the Google Webmaster tool! Google just won't let anybody check up on you, but you can sign in and check for yourself.
Don't use google for backlink checking , you can use some kind of backlink checker tool like ahrefs.com
One of the best and most powerful tool you can use to see all your backlinks or check competition backlinks is http://www.opensiteexplorer.org/
