How to Check if PageRank is Genuine

I am about to buy a domain that is being sold as PR3. How do I know if this is genuine PR or fake?

Can anyone reccomend any online tools?

 

use famous pr checker, it's absolute right, try prchecker.info?

the prchecker.info tool - does it tell you if the PR is fake? or is it just looking at the toolbar PR?

 

prchecker tells you the exact page rank of your website and it does not tell if the pr is fake.

The easiest way to check an individual domain for fake page rank is to search site:website.com (where website.com is the site you are checking)

If the first result is not the domain and a another domain using the site: search command then most likely the domain you are checking has a forwarded domains page rank

 

There are many tools available on net. have you installed google toolbar? there is a option to check the pr of the website in google toolbar.

The search result must be also from the same domain.

checkpagerank.net is a good one. It gives you the genuine PR as well as link popularity and also the domain age.

 

As mention earlier you can try both

site:sitename
info:sitename

if search result shows the same site name mention above , then site is genuine.

 

you can use services like sitelogr.com which will show you not only the pagerank, but also other details like traffic.
