How to check if Google index my images?

    Hey all,

    I have a phpbb3 forum and I've done some SEO on the images lately (added dynamic tag & title attribute for every image in viewtopic).

    But now my question is, will it help me getting more traffic?

    How can I see the amount of index images ? (I know one way which is site:domain.com on Google)

    Any tips & tricks appreciated.

    Cheers

    If you have optimised your images, then it can certainly help to send more traffic. To see if your images have been indexed, enter the image URL into google images search engine and see what pops up.

    It will help a bit for sure, but you shouldn't expect massive. Because many users intend to click & save the image only, they don't care for the source.

    Try this-> source: yourdomain

    Go to images.google.com and then perform a search with the query "site:mydomain.com" (replace mydomain with yours)

    All those commands are to see if your site or domain is indexed but cannot say if the images themselves are indexed and showing on Google Image result.

    go to firefox, add seoquake in their addons. Whenever you visit your site, you will see the pop.up message that your site is indexed or not.

    Of course Image optimization that you have done for your site images will provide benefit not much but little a bit sure. To check whether your images have been indexed or not, enter this syntax site:domain name in Google images search and it will let you know the indexing status for your images.

    For fast check, you type this query to Google image search: site:yourdomainname
    Replace your domain name with your full domain name.
    result is all
    google indexed images from your site
    Google image search (where people are looking for images) and because they can help your page show up higher in Google’s organic search result listings so that you can get more traffic from search engines.
