Hello, Can anyone please show me How to check backlinks using Google Sitemap and Yahoo Site Explorer? In Google, I saw External links, Internal links, sitelinks. In Yahoo, there is Inline links. Where is the backlinks? Thanks.
sitemaps are not used for checking backlinks, it's just an xml structure of your website that you upload in google webmaster central to help google browse and indexyour website, to check the backlinks in google type link:www.website.com, or check in google webmaster central (if you added a sitemap, click on your website, then links then external links), in the yahoo website explorer, type an url, then click on "Inlinks", those websites that you see in the results are your backlinks. good luck.
Try to check site:yourdomain.com in google and yahoo. They have different figures coz yahoo counts all links but google counts only the relevant backlinks
google and yahoo browse your links with a different pace/speed, also yahoo will often show more backlinks than google, google will show most of your links but not all of them. anyway i don't understand the obsession with "numbers" since this is not a numbers game, but a quality game. good luck.
