Back-Links are the key determinant for any website’s popularity. So we often get in confusion, which tool should we use for a perfect back link tracking process! My suggestion is if you don’t have any paid tool for this crucial job then why don’t we use available search engine’s database? If we use the direct data from all the major search engine’s ie;Google,Bing and Yahoo, then its fare enough to justify the back link checking method. You can use few simple command’s to get those list of back-links for a particular website for a particular search engine. Here are the following process for each search engine’s ie;Google,Yahoo and Bing. For Google.com:Simply go to Google and type in “link:example.comâ€,take a look I did it for “http://timesofindia.indiatimes.com/†For Bing.com:Simply go to Google and type in “inbody:example.com -site:example.comâ€,take a look I did it for “http://timesofindia.indiatimes.com/†For Yahoo.com:Simply go to Yahoo Site Explorer and type in “example.com†and explore the URL and get the result, take a look I did it for “http://timesofindia.indiatimes.com/†Here are most simplified manual command we can type in to major search engine’s to find out the no. of backlinks counted by corresponding search engine for a specific website,I think those manual commands are much better than any free tools. But for an information, those command wont return you the exact no. of back-links,the simple reason is nobody will disclose their whole algorithmic linking structure to avoid search engine gaming.
