How to Check Backlinks on Competitors Sites?

When I do link: domainhere.com, I see that MOST are NOT real backlinks, but results from smaller search engines.

How do I tell the REAL backlinks of a specific site.. and do these search engine results qualify as backlinks?

use rankalert.net/backlink-watch.php it will show you all back links with the PR on the page.
or you can use backlinkwatch.com also.
and if you don't want to do manually find back links use, SEOqauack as "Hawshp" mentioned, it's very good tool for SEO.
