How to check backlinks - Now Site Explorer is dead

    nothing can tell you the exact backlinks so try to use the webmaster account for checking

    you can also use blekko dot com. You need to sign up to see this. User the slash tag /seo after your domain name e.g. yourdomainname . com/seo

    backlinkwatch is crap. It shows multiple backlinks from same domain and won't show more than 1000 backlinks. So if i have 2000 posts on one dofollow forum it will only show backlinks from one site and ignore all the others.

    use Google webmaster tools, it is not instant but it is pretty accurate.

    This option does not list backlinks. It lists the pages indexed of this site in Google.
    MajesticSEO and SEO SpyGlass are two excellent resources to check backlinks. OpenSiteExplorer is also pretty good.

    I found majestic SEO to be good. Even the site explorer without the opt-in is good.

    SEO Powersuit software helps also. However, I prefer Google Webmaster Tool, the result is more precise.
