    Hi all,

I got major problem, I have a private server on which I host a website for one of my clients. He just spent $$$$ dollars on advertisment in the newspaper, but today my server is down, even the website of my hosting company.

Now I like to check how long the website/server was down, how would I do that???

    Tx in advance

You can look at the http request records in your web site logs, any large gaps might correlate with your outage.

On a windows server, I would just look at the system log. It will show a record for the shutdown and restart of the eventlog service which corresponds with the reboot of the server.

On a *nix system, I'm guessing you could look at dmsgs?

If you are running third party monitoring, then the service would have a report of the outage(s).

Have a look at my signature :)
