Hi, I have a serious problem. I have windows premium on my laptop and i Wanted to change the start-up sound but i see that it only has a box that says, play windows start-up sound. My questions is how exactly do you change the windows vista start-up sound since I cannot find it anywhere? any idea? Sarah
You can do it from the C drive/in the drive where you have installed the OS. All you have to is replace the music/sound in the windows folder/media directory.
Confirm that which sound you want to assign and go to (if OS is installed in c folder) c > windows > system32 > media >(select the sound) rename it to default sound (which is now currently) come back to control panel > sounds tab > select the default sound AND RockON
check in control panel> sounds settings, if you not getting that. Login with administrator of your pc.
To change vista start-up tune you have to follow some steps. Firstly Click the Windows "Start" button and then "Control Panel then Click "Hardware and Sound After that select "Change System Sounds". Browse to load a wav file from computer then select sound and click preview for testing. Then apply and restart your pc the sound you selected will now play when you start your computer.
