How to change urls on outbound links

    Hey Digitalian Pointizians,

    What is the best way to change the outbound links on your site? Making them 302 redirects? I want my outbound URL's to look friendlier than they currently do since I am doing affiliate SEO. Thanks in advance.

    Yes. If you can create them look like you are still surfing the same website! :)

    You can use Google Url shortener services from Goo.gl . This way you are pointing your outward links to Goo.gl and not any affiliate links. There are various other such shortener services available.

    If it's wordpress you can install the "SEO Ultimate" plugin..then, once it's installed hover over "SEO" on the left and select "Link Mask Generator"

    From here you can put in your target url..for example: domain.com/aff/publid=123
    Then you can put in your desired "masked" url..for example: download-your-ebook
    Press SAVE..and you can now post yourdomain.com/download-your-ebook/ anywhere and it will automatically redirect to domain.com/aff/pubid=123 :)

    The other nice thing about this is that if you ever want to change your affiliate link just go back to the same settings, change your target url..and no other links need to be changed around your website because the "download-your-ebook" link remains the same :)
