    Hello people,

Any ideas on how to change thumbnails to show not from the site (thumbshots.com) etc. but, lets say from own website host.

Thumbshots.com doesnt show to me all thumbnails, half of them is 'image is comming soon' thumbnail.

btw: i do not mind to create thumbnail on my own, just need to know on how to set up.

And maybe there is any more good thumbnail sites like thumbshots.com?

    Thanks!

Anyone eperiencing the same problems or it is only me?
Can not understand where is the problem... or it is in the site www.thumbnails.com which supports phpLD or something with set up... all previous thumbnails are fine, but new (the last few weeks) shows only few of all that should show... it shows 'image is comming soon' instead :(

I set up both of my directories to use my own images after Alexa went to paid. I didn't like the idea of not having 100% control over what appears on my sites either.

It's not too complicated to set things up to use your own images but it will require a bit of programming and a naming strategy for the image files.

The way I did it was to name each image file using the record number of the submission. (The record number is pretty much the only aspect of a listing that will never change.) Every file is named xxx.jpg and placed in the same directory. I then edited all of the templates used to display the listings on the various pages to display my images instead of using one of the services.

Can't tell you exactly how to do this in phpLD but it shouldn't be that big of a job.

Thanks a lot, YMC, for giving another idea.
The most hardest part probably would be to create all the thumbnails of listed sites in the past. Though it is probably the best way to have all thumbnails on own site.
