    Hi,
I started a blog with my friend few months back and at that time he paid for the webhosting and in the WHOis listing, site is owned by him.

Now that he is not interested in site and I am willing to pay him for his share, I want to know how to change the ownership of a site. I also want to know whether does it even matter now as adsense and cpanel accounts are controlled by me and he can not even access them.

Your question is bit unclear. Did you get the ownership of the domain name? Ask him to push/transfer the domain name to you. You can transfer the files to your web hosting account. But your friend should authorize the transfer. If the Adsense account is not yours, you have to use your own Adsense account definitely to monetize the web site with adsense. If not payout check will go to your friend.

    Hi,

First of all you need to change the domain ownership and needed to be update the whois information with yours.

Transfer your domain to another registrar which easily allows you to change ownership of the domain for free. It is somehow "unreasonable" in my opinion only, to charge an extra fee for change of ownership when other registrars offer the service for free.

    Hi,

There is nothing with the webhost. Please note that webhost and domain registerar are not same.
