How to change the background color of an icon using Gimp?

    So i am a begginer to gimp and i would like to know how can i change the background color of this icon? to a hex or rgb value , in photoshop is pretty easy but in gimp...:(

    I am looking for something for easier , it takes likes years to do all those things.

    I am searching for something like Hue and saturation, but thanks for trying to help me out i appreciate it:)

    I understand that. GIMP is one of the best FREE and open-source alternatives to Photoshop. It is quite difficult sometimes to carry out simple tasks as changing backgrounds. If its just an icon you want to edit, try using a simple icon editor instead.
    Nevertheless, if you try using GIMP, it will slowly grow on you and trust me, you will start loving it after some time.

    it does not have hex values and if i convert hex to hue it does not convert it so it's not stable that.
