You cannot do that. A name technically stays with you for life and unless it was misspelt, you probably cannot change it. Be prepared to send them the supporting government documents for your name change.

    Right ;)

I already tried changing it, but they sent me a message after about a week saying that name change is not possible.

However, it is possible to change minor spelling mistake like Jakii to Jakie if you provide necessary proof.

In case you like to request a check on a different name with same last name,, then that is possible at the time of requesting your check. But changing your paypal name permanently is not allowed :)

Not sure if that makes a difference what country your account is based in but I was able to change the display name in a matter of minutes, and it took effect immediately. Done it a few months ago, and never received any warning or notice from Paypal regarding the name change. And it was not the case of spelling correction, no.

You have to delete your account and then remake one if you want to change your name...

Don't do that. Renaming an account is easy. Deleting it will also delete your reputation if any, and you will start from scratch. Not convenient sometimes.
