    Hello everyone,
I have recently noticed that Google has given me links to the main sections of my site, when i search for the name of my site. Howver some of these links are now invalid as i have redsigned my site, is this done manually or by the algorithm, and is there someone I can contact who may change this for me.?

    Thanks

You'll just need to wait for Google to make the changes. Wish there was something you really could do but there is not.

Make sure the old pages 301 redirect to the new pages and you will be fine.

The links are automatically generated from googles toolbar traffic data.

thanks guys, mad4 your post is very helpful thanks. I guess the toolbar traffic data has to be used by them for something. What sites get these sort of links, I'm a pr6 with lots of links.

Perhaps these links are turned on manually and then the toolbar takes over. Only shows up though when I search the actual name of the site and not when I search for my keywords which i'm in the top 10 for.

I'm not convinced it's all "algorithmic" as Cutts says. Do a search for "diamond prices" on G, the #1 site has 4 of these additional internal links below their listing. My questions is where does the anchor text for these links come from??? Specifically, the one that says CONSUMER AND EXPERT FORUMS - nowhere on the page does it say that, not in any meta tags, H1's or anywhere else. And it's all in caps while the other three are not. Looks very much like a human edited feature to me.

Hi folks, loving the replies on this.
I don't see why cutts would mislead people, and as far as him making a 'mistake' well he works for the comapny so it's unlikely to say the least. On one of my links under my listing, the words 'THE GOOGLE FORUM' is used as an anchor, and my homepage has that exact same anchor (casing included) text. So I would say to diamond that it is algorithmic and the text 'CONSUMER AND EXPERT FORUMS' could exist on other pages and not just the page associated with the listing.
