    Hi,

Is there a way to capture competitors traffic details?

Basically, I would like to analyze the geographical locations of competitors customer base/user base and get their keywords info. And use that information to create my Adword campaign.;)

Alexa is the only source, it does give some geographical info. Keywords, hmm.. you really cant get, unless you can hack his site :) You may generate possible keywords for that niche and from the homepage. Checkout the position for each keyword on google. No shortcuts here.

Or may be you can get an adspot on his site for a week or so and analyse the traffic :)

I am not sure if you could get their stats, but you can normally take a decent guess by looking at rankings, backlinks, etc. Do some research on where they are getting backlinks and try to draw some your way.

hehe.. one of my main competitors uses one of those freebee stat counters that either doesnt have passwords, or he forgot to put a password on it. one day he clicked on one of my referral-links from his stat page, which then showed up in my stats.. I followed that link and bookmarked it ..

    I agree with Tearabite....
Some webmasters forget including password at their tracker....
So, we can see (steal?) the information from that site.
For example, problog**r.net using sitemeter as their tracker and they're not using password on the tracker. I can see clearly what their visitors want in search engines to get in to their site. :)

Sorry to be novice here. How does the link helped you to track the traffic.

I tried problo*ger.net, but could not figure out what you meant by "not using password". Does that mean, I can add his url into my Google Analytics and track the traffic?

the link led me to the system he uses to track his stats, which reports everything about all of his traffic, where it comes from, etc. It tells me everything about his traffic.

For Problogger: i'm guessing Darrin knows that his stats are visible.. I had a peek and was surprised that i get as much/more traffic than he does!
But i'm not giving away his secret, just in case he does NOT know..
