I choose to register at Godaddy.com however, they asked requirements: -citizen of US -Permanent in US But Im not a citizen of us or anything related to US can anyone show me how to buy a domain with ext: .US ? thanks in advance.
I wonder if godaddy also double checks your purpose of buying any other domain like .org or asks for residential proof for any other country's tld? There have been no strict implementation of use of tlds for specific purpose they were made... why single out restriction for just .us? If godaddy wishes to remain choosy, you can approach several others... who would gladly give you one! Regards, RightMan
Godaddy tries to follow all stupid rules which hams thier customers say like if u have wrong whois they have a problem... if they recieve complains that domain is hosting copyrighted stuff they have a problem (domains cant be touched only hosting can but godaddy will screw the domain too)
I can consider all whois protected domains are showing wrong whois data. Whois protection is legit and it's offered free by many domain registrars. But if you stick with Godaddy you need to pay extra for whois, and double checked, suspected, assumed...
thank everybody, I tried with namecheap.com with lower cost of $8.81 and they accepted for me to buy .US domain however I dont understand why I whois domain, its showing with fake information, no is me: http://who.godaddy.com/WhoIs.aspx?domain=tinu.us&prog_id=godaddy Administrative/Billing/Technical/Contact <== all of informations belong to namecheap.com Why? thanks
You don't have any thing for register a .US domain and it registered as other domains. I had registered us domain and don't have a problem and I don't see any change in registration agreement for us domain. I hadn't see any problem as this. I think that you should say this issue to NameCheap support.
If you register a .US domain and you do not meet the eligibility requirements, then you are in a very vulnerable position. Anyone who doesn't like you, or any of your competitors, can report you and get your domain taken away.
Not for .us domains - "private whois" is specifically not allowed for those. Any registrar that sells .us domains with private whois service is liable to lose their right to register .us in the future.
