    hi,

i have seen some domains on this forum that people are selling and i want to buy it.

what is the process on buying / transferring ownership?

i have only ever purchased from registrars on the internet, not normal civillians.

    how and what is involved?

Use escrow(dot)com, it will protect both parties.
    Good luck

first you agree on the price and talk out the escrow thing.
put your money in the escrow.
have the seller transfer the domain.
escrow gives the money to the seller.

    thats it.

I wouldn't go with escrow service for cheap domains. Anything less than 1000k is not worth it. As long as you are buying from established member and verified PayPal users you'll be fine. As for additional security pay with a credit card through PP so you can charge back in your bank if anything goes wrong.

Anyone have any suggestions for me?

I have a typo domain where the related domain owner contacted me for purchase. We agreed on a purchase price and I suggested going through escrow.

He paid into escrow and I started the domain transfer. NetSol had an issue transferring the domain, and it didn't take. I supplied him with all my info and we talked o nthe phone once or twice about it.

We were at the point where he was going to try the transfer again (after I got NetSol and Name.com support involved), and he's stopped responding to all contact. Emails go unanswered, phone calls go to voicemail.

Any suggestions? Escrow.com says they will try to contact them on my behalf, but it's been over a month now.

Leave it to Escrow staff. It may well be something serious on his end, especially if his money is already on Escrow account. You have nothing to lose so just wait.

Yup, looks like my buyer took a month-long vacation.

Although he is the CEO of a up and coming startup, so good on him!
