So MODs, is that 20% BIN lowering true or that is not applicable for DP? I'm still confused about that.

    Thanks.

nO - you cant bump period,

You think dp is going to set some stupid rule , if you minus 20% then you can bump?

Then everyone would be setting the price 100% higher, so they could have 5 "20% off " bumps......

If people are NOT posting to your thread , it means it sucks, plain and simple

I'm just curious about that, because I've seen many similar threads and everybody screams about their infractions. Anyway for example the "Link Sales" forum has a very active audience and new threads drops down like a waterfall. IMHO I think that's the place where the most "bumpers" born.
It's awkward when people lost money just because of some bumpers, so I agree that bumping is bumping and it should be punished. But also I think many people will welcome some other auction "system", but this is another issue, to another thread..

ok, people stop posting crap in my thread. :D

This was a suggestion to DP, so we'll see when Shawn is back what he thinks about it and hopefully he'll apply some better rules, like the ones I've mentioned in the first post to make the whole infractions and bumping issue more clear for everyone. Since I'm sure most would agree there is still a lot of misunderstanding and confusing about this.

And like Voltaire said "Common sense is not so common. "

Also, keep in mind posting in this thread is dangerous and might get you banned, or severely infracted, so think twice before you post below. :)

    Bring
    Up
    My
    Post

Which is likely not the original meaning, but for the better part best describes the action of BUMPing a thread. The reasoning behind a bump is to take ones thread back to the top of page one, and is generally done by posting something meaningless (without content) such as "bin lowered <insert $$ one less then previous BIN>" or by "PM SENT" which of course is obvious, as the other member will see that they have a new Private Message when they log in, even if they don't visit the thread.

I see threads slipping down the forums as a motivator to work more on the products/services i'm trying to sell. I know that I can't just post random garbage to bring it back to the top of the forum; so I work on new content, enhancements and additions to my scripts/store - so that I have something new to post about.

WTF are you all talking about.

It's easy to bump. morons do it all the time.

It's called starting a sales thread and not listing the URL.

DP has been letting people get away with that for months and it's free bumps by lemmings most of whom don't even have $5 in their paypal account.

True and those are the kind of people making it hard on everyone. What matters is intent. No matter if a bump is strategically planned or not.

I have had few requests via Reps requesting for doing bumps, wonder if i should expose the members doing that to rob, maybe i will get special treatment than from rob ? But i doubt that so naaaa... :D:D:p

Its not a bait MG, DP is not the only forum out there you know, lots of other forums , signup with some id, do bump and be gone if you do not use that forum.
