From my reading over the forum, often I see people buying (services...) from Trustworthy members which have a good rep. What I am asking you here is to list few way to improve your reputation on a forum and well, why not listing things to avoid as well! As I do not have a good reputation here (I mean not yet) I prefer not to make any statement; I'm actually curious about what experienced members can say about it and eventually... could everyone here have a good rep... Thanks in advance.
Well I'm only a new member but I'll comment anyway! I guess always providing good information and genuinely helping people is the way to go. tn33
Hi, I think you should aim to try to give good information and be part of the forum, i.e. an active member. If you give helpful advice you will get a good reputation over time. Also make sure any services you offer give real value.
A good start would be offering free service / product without asking for any returns. As time goes by, try to help others in the area of your expertise. Finally, and most importantly, give credit to those worthy members whenever you read a good / helpful post
Mostly just provide helpful information. Alot of the threads posted here are people asking for help or seeking information on how to do things. If you reply, make it actually worth reading. I personally find it extremely annoying when somebody posts a specific question (i.e. "how do I get started?") and the people who reply give really lame/unhelpful answers (i.e. "read the site", "build links", etc). The people with good reputations here actually post alot of very helpful information if you search their posts. For example - last year sometime I compiled a bunch of posts made by other members into a single post that lists off free marketing resources (free directories, free article sites, free places to advertise, etc). The post itself is still getting rep for me even though I haven't touched that thread in probably 6 months now. Post useful information and be helpful. Simple and easy to do.
I've found that being helpful - offering assistance without an expectation of getting anything in return, works in both the online world as well as in person. Continue to have a positive, helpful attitude and you'll become known as a respected member of the community, both on and off line. Regards, Jim
One other thing - don't ask for greens. It really bugs me that people do that. They post some free resource or article or something, and then add "Please give me rep" or something like it. Very very annoying.
I gave away a free report to everyone and I had over 200 messages, now my rep is ......wait... WONDERFUL
A tip: one of the most popular ways among the top Internet gurus to do this is to provide highly useful, interesting and profitable information to people interested in your industry.
I am also new to this forum. I think providing helpful and useful information could built up the good reputation.
- making useful replies - posting real breaking news ( Adsense goes PPA for example) - be kind to others even if they are wrong - be decent on your transactions - when adding reputation to others, be sure to include your name in the comment
