one method you describe is search engine submission which is old school method and no longer used widely or even needed. search engines will find your site through backlinks anyway therefore submitting to SEs will be nothing but a total waste of time

 

I would re-read (or have someone do it for you) for grammar, spelling, etc. as it makes the article difficult to follow at times.

One other comment, while submitting to DMOZ.org is great, you might want to mention that it can take months to years to ever actually get listed

I find it hard soliciting links from webmasters. They don't respond either they're are too busy doing stuffs or just lazy to put your link in their site. However, if monetary equivalent is involved, you can almost get their attention.

On the other hand, creating press release and article submission still rocks these days, as well as joining forums such as DP.

 

Submit it to article directory than submit it to some good social bookmarking sites as well , htis will provide you good traffic .
