Creating links is easy. You need to use your blogging tools in your content management software (CMS) - blogspot/wordpress/etc... Creating backlinks, you can start with commenting on other blogs using Name, Email, URL (of your blog). Other than that, create a signature link in your digital point forum profile to give backlink for each post.
find other blogs/forums/guestbooks etc related to your own niche/blog and post with them. Leave your sig there. If its an informative post, then they'll come visit your site.

You can submit your blog to blog directories.. You can comment on other blogs too!.. Try to participate in building links like article and directory submissions, forum posting, classified ads, press releases and social bookmarking..
