It takes a long time for links to help site. Your links are 24 hours old it takes days and weeks for links to help and show up.

one easy way to promote your website and get free backlinks is to write articles and submit them in articles directories. You can submit your articles free at http://www.articles-heaven.com and http://www.keeparticles.com , we will publish your articles alongwith your resource box, which will contain backlinks to your site. It will generate free traffic too to your websites.

My site is 2 years old and has PR3, Alexa 41,000. My members are around 10,000 , but it seems does not enough for me.

I would recommend you to switch links with related-content site.. It's a pain to do it manually, but it's an advantage for you because all the backlinks are sure full of quality.

As kansari said, submitting your articles to article directories can help alot too..

    Good luck!

Actually site submission will not work alone. Make a blog and an article about your site, as you update your site update also your blog. Be a member of many forums and put your site in your signature. :D

Exchange links with relevant sites. Write articles and do post it in article directories. Make it a regular practice.

I'd also suggest you buying some quality links on related sites, as well as manually submitting tons of articles. Also recommend you not to exchange links, especially reciprocal ones. If you do make it 3-way.
    Wish you luck...

You already have a well-accomplished site. The submissions and stuff won't take you much further. If you want to be a bigger boy you need to have what they have; natural backlinks, which means people link to your pages without you arranging it. But you can help this process by "link to this page" codes and "add xxx to your page" stuff from whatever your websites content is about.

Might want to note that some if not all of those cost money to use. Even for prweb, it's 80 bucks for the lowest end press release, this may be out of the question for some people. When I looked at the prices I assumed it was a one-time fee or monthly cost, I was shocked it was PER submission.

I'd think if someone put in a little legwork, they could go to google and yahoo and submit their own stuff, for free, from what I've looked at so far.
