How To build backlinks without paying for them

Hey everyone,
I'm trying to do as much as possible to increase my SERPs for my keywords, and was curious if anyone had some tips to build backlinks that would help me go up in SERP..

Currently I post in 2 forums with signature anchor links (this one included)

I'm willing to do pretty much anything except paying someone to get links for me...

What methods should I try?

 

There are many free ways to get links but they may not be effective as you may expected.

1. Free Web Directory Submission - You can get one way links for free. However, most of this kind of directories are new and the link has only a little value.

2. Social Bookmark - Another free way but I would not recommend if your content is scraped from someone sites. Avoid spamming either or your site would be banned forever.

3. Blog Comments - By give a useful comments to certain page on some blog, you would get links. Sometime it is a nofollow. Do not spam either.

4. Guest Book / FFA Sites - I would recommend you avoid these kind of free links. It could hurt your site in a long run.

 

1) I've done some of this.. However.. there are SOOOOO many free directories out there.. Is there any sort of automated was to do this? It seems like a very tedious process for very little payoff.. (registering, following activation link, then submitting, waiting weeks to maybe get approved..)

2) All of my content is original.. However it's not something I ever expect anyone to want to follow us on (twitter/facebook/etc) since our niche is cremation urns..

3) I've been looking @ doing more of this.. Hard to find a follow link that has a decent PR to comment on though.. Especially with my niche..

4) I haven't even bothered with this type..

Forum sigs, Blog commenting can get you free backlinks easily

 

I'm not a supporter of paid link building techniques.The best way to get back links is by commenting on dofollow blogs of your niche & adding signature links in reputed forums.I don't like any other methods.

 

Check out the forum section for "link development" there are tons of threads in there for link building.

 

1.Commenting on do-follow blogs
2.Paid Directories Paid Directory List
3.Free Directories like Easysubmits.com
4.Forum Signatures (you said you already have 2 but I don't think they're enough)
5.Link Baiting (articles and any sort of text that includes anchored links)
6.Link Exchange (with other RELATED sites)
7.Run Contests on your blog
8.Squidoo and hub pages
9.Give away ebooks
10.Guest Posts

 

you can do link signatures even on a non related forum but remember to sneak in the comments your keywords

 

PR, Article, video marketing, social networking

 

I think you can get High PR backlinks from almost every white hat source but take care that the sites are dofollow and links are permanent.

Try writing several articles and submitting them to ezinearticles, goarticles, aritclebase etc

Also try building link wheels. Write 5 variations of one article and submit it to 5 social media sites (xanga, livejournal, wordpress, blogger etc). Each article should point to the next social media site as well as your money site (2 links in total) continue to do this until you reach the last social media site. The last site is going to point back to your first site as well as the money site.

That is closed link wheel. If you want an open link wheel, just don't have the last site point back to the first site.

There are several variations of link wheels. The above mentioned is pretty simple and straightforward.

 

You can always write and submit articles on your niche topic, to various well ranked article submission sites... of course with your link included in them, with a very good keyword!

best way is to not spam forums but make a great site with lots of content and people will link to you.

 

You can buy Roboforn software to fill forms automatically, which you can use in directory submission also.

 

How about write things which are good to people then leave a link?
With positive and helpful ideas, you can receive the trust from others.

 

In my own experiences, if you have done all channels for backlinks mentioned above, you should now pay more attention to your keyword strategy and on-page issues. For a complete list of ranking factor, you might want to read the article "search engines ranking factors" from seomoz.org.
