Hi there, I need to make a website that has webcam function, just like live chat or something. My client is a teacher and wants to teach hairdressing online, so she needs to see the students and they need to see her. Obviously doing it on MSN and Yahoo webcam is not an option. Has to be done on her site, like an embedded movie but instead of an mpeg a webcam. I know this can be done and looked absolutely everywhere but can't find a solution... okay. There are already scripts that allow you to do this, but the tool I'd recommend is Yahoo live. Check out live.yahoo.com - it uses flash, there's a chat room and it accesses your webcam. She could even view up to 4 of her students at a time back. I've never seen any other script/website that does that that easily, freely or well. and it's all in browser, so no installation!
streaming live video is gonna eat up a lot of bandwidth, something like live.yahoo.com has the advantage of being run by somebody that isn't you. You can reserve whatever channel you want, but serisouly, it's like a real-time youtube.
Seriously, how can I create a website like live.yahoo.com? I'm going to have that one but hardly figure out where would I start.
