    I agree with most of the people replied in this thread. To do all things like on-page or off-page you should take some extra care. Your popularity, or Page Rank, is calculated by a variety of things, including how many high quality links you have and which keywords or phrases are involved in those links and are they relevant to your site or not.

    Make sure the links have relevant keywords pointing to your site from relevant pages. You should create a page with unique content and word or phrase; you can easily rank for that term.

    Keep your contents to the point and don't insert random terms/keywords, or Google may think you are "Keyword Stuffing"
    Lastly, it will take some time before the search engines trust a linkless site. So, you may just to have to wait. You may be able to rank for your terms as soon as the next time Googlebot visits your site.
