I have a websites, i want to know how to bring traffic from biung search engine and how i can bring my website in top results. Thanks
So far it may not be possible to conclude that Bing does not accept the same sitemap that Google does. They are more than one sites letting you create sitemaps, and there are in no way related to Google. So hopefully submitting the same sitemap to Google and Bing may not clash with each other.
I use the same Sitemap for both Google and Bing. I rank top 10 for alot of searches in Google, and #1 for all the top Google searches. In my opinion, Bing is easier to rank in then Google is.
Bing sux for the most part. Sure you could rank well with any odd ball less than popular keyword or phrase, but you are lucky to get much activity or much indexing. There bot and index has to be the worst. There are many less popular search engines that do a much better job. Why is it that these guys can't get there ### together?
I have sign up Bing webmaster but traffic from Bing is still pathetic. Wonder what is the reason. Would appreciate any advise.
bing as google you need to have ranking to have traffic from them. Is unclear how bing is ranking a site.
I wrote a breakdown of this awhile back. Basically Bing is an amorphous directory with the categories being dynamically created by the search (keywords). It favors OnPage factors heavily such as the title, description, and tags. Most notably so far are the titles. I noticed sites ranking for phrases that aren't found in G simply because the title is better optimised versus offpage factors.
Yes it is. Silly webmasters. Bing does not accept sitemaps at all. yes it allows you to upload them, but Bing is at this current time, refusing to index the whole internet until spam measures are put in place most likely. At the current time, Bing operates on a system of "Page Score" and if your page (that includes subpages) has a 0, Bing no longer includes them in results. IT IS crawling them, and possibly storing them. every now and them people speak of the "phantom" results that return thousands of pages, then it pops back to like 20 results for their site, haha, it's because Bing is not ready to show all those pages and using this page score system filters out spam sites. The only guaranteed way I've seen to get crawled in bing is having dozens of quality links to EACH page (not just the frontpage, bing actually requires the subpages get linked to), granted once your site is "quality" in and of itself, then it can "give itself" links.
The reason is that more people use Google to search with than they do Bing. The amount of traffic coming from any search engine is directly tied to it's use by people. Less people .. equates to less traffic. If Google has a 70% market share, and Yahoo has a 20% market share, and Bing has a 10% market share ... then chances are pretty good that only 10% of your overall traffic is going to come from Bing.
