How To Boost CTR On Content Sites?

    Hello everyone,

I am using Adwords to get some traffic but I prefer getting
it just from the content network as it is cheaper.

The only problem is that my CTR is much too low. I get
    something between 0.02% - 0.10% at max.

Yes, I run two different ad types (2 split test) and try to
adjust the better working one, but still I cannot get what
    I want.

Is there a way to increase the CTR without increasing my
    bid prices?

I have read about a guy using the adword content network
and having somewhere around two digit CTRs. I don't know
if he is telling the truth but it is the report where a guy uses
a keyword research software to find good keywords and making
    money through arbitrage.

Well, whatever, is there someone who can acknowledge this?

    Thanks very much.

maybe you can try specific site targeting that way you can see which site
has good ctr or which one does not

well, the problem is also that i barely get clicks. about
3 clicks per day for about 5000-10000 impressions.

even if I found out which site has high CTRs. I couldn't
get displayed on that specific site more often, could I?

    Anyway, thx 4 your replies.

Its hard to get a high CTR with the content network. Depending on the site/s your ads are showing on; your ads could be below the fold so most people won't even see them. Its normal to have tons of impressions and very little clicks with the content network.

I read you tested ad copy but you might see some improvement if you constantly split test ads. Every day try new ad copy. Its a pain but you might get a little more traffic after you see what works. If your sending traffic to a landing page, you might want to invest in a more descriptive domain name. Also I've noticed having a domain like Cheap-Stuff.com gets a higher CTR than cheapstuff.com.

For the guy getting a CTR in the double digits, I'm taking this to mean 10%+, he can't be getting that from normal non arbitrage sites.
