Hello, Will it boost the Alexa rank if I implement this on my blog's (www.minterest.com) sidebar.... So that Alexa can count the traffic of users who dont have alexa toolbar... I am asking this as I have seen this thing in some sites home page.....
I am afraid it won't... at least that's what Alexa themselves seem to claim.. that putting their widget won't improve alexa rankings... http://awis.blogspot.com/2007/09/how-to-boost-your-alexa-rank.html This is Alexa's blog post on the various traffic boosters suggested others have suggested and what alexa itself thinks of these.... however using the alexa toolbar urself as well as making it your homepage can be helpful.. the best way would be to hang around in developre forums.. coz they are the ones that use alexa the most.. so if you can get em to visit your site, it would dramatically improve your alexa rank...
I have also read that our ranking would boost if we use the redirect link like.. http://redirect.alexa.com/redirect?http://www.minterest.com/ but using that have a problem.. if Alexa is down that link wont work...
Just get more quality sites linking back to you and more users visiting your website everyday and it will boost. BTW, how long did it take you to reach your current rank ?
Hello, To be honest... I DONT HAVE Alexa Toolbar.. the current traffic is natural.... maybe its because my traffic is mostly webmasters.... This website is 15 months old... and for the last 12 months it was a finance related blog which i was not updating and i didnt gave importance... then I changed to the current site in august... so it took 3 months to reach from 10million+ to the current 280k... Check http://www.alexa.com/data/details/traffic_details/minterest.com and just see its 3 mos. Change but at present its not showing here.. check by urself or if its not working try later........
Update: I have just inserted the widget in the sidebar..... I will keep that for 2 updates thats some 7-21 days.... and let me see if it works.. if it did i will update you......
yes the re-direct works a bit according to our research! but remember, the search engines hates these redirects, so if you have too many re-directs then your search engines rankings can get hurt! I have also made enough research on that widget, and unfortunately i got no good results from that, anyways, looking foreword to see your updates!
- Write unique content - Write USEFUL and interesting articles - Build backlinks - Exchange links/blogposts - Buy Signatures and Recent blog feeds of DP members
Sure will update you... again I have also read that if we use that redirect link as the signature link then we get many unique hits and thereby increasing the rank......
Not neccessarily, editing your widgets will not effect much as long as titles and such are labeled properly such as <h1 and such.
Just an update now I have 'Minterest.com has a traffic rank of: 255,12128' it was 280k when I started the thread.... Up 30,000 today... so I inserted the widget on the right day itself....
Could someone explain to me the benefit of having high Alexa rank? I may be missing something here, but as far as I understand, it has absolutely no relevance to SERP's and traffic. Thanks
Yup, no relevance, unless you want to sell your site, or you want sell links. Though some one said it does nlook pretty on thier site.
Actually there is nothing to do with alexa in terms of traffic... But you can trust Top 1000 Sites... others try to manipulate rankings.... (not all but some)... Actually i trust rankings upto 10,000. And am asking about this... because I like to be in Top 1,000,00 as i consider tat as a milestone.....
Wow. Just noticed that my site is now 243,506 from 255k so am in 250k thats up 12,000 in 4 days...... COOOL
i heard of alexabooster software which boost your alexa rank upto very high.... but i think its a paid...
You could try and push an alexa enabled toolbar to your users, aswell as install the toolbar yourself, as you probably visit your site(s) multiple times daily.
