Go into your HOSTS file which most likely is in C:\WINDOWS\system32\drivers\etc

    Under the line: 127.0.0.1 localhost

add the following line: 127.0.0.1 pagead2.googlesyndication.com

Close all browsers and when you re-open them the Google ads won't show.

Try restarting the computer and did you edit the right HOSTS file as there are several on your computer, most in Capitals but this one should be lower case.

There is no reason it shouldn't work but I never tried it on Vista.

    Well golddragon rightly said

    1. Use Firefox and the Adblock Plus
    2. Internet Explorer with IE7PRO Addon - This plugin have many other functions too such as tabbed browsing etc.

These are the best two add ons for blocking ADSENSE ads on Firefox and IE.

Hey There is a simple way to do this.
Start Firefox or any browser. Go to " Settings" Uncheck the option "Enable Java Script"

By doing this you will not be able to view some other functions in Java too. But it will not affect normal surfing.
