How to block spammers?

Is there a features in WP that I can use to block an IP? Because my hosting don't allow it.(damn) so I have to rely on WP plugins that can block IP of the spammer. Thanks!

Not a fan of these options. I'm looking for IP blocking mods. Thanks anyway.

 

When a comment contains any of these words in its content, name, URL, e-mail, or IP, it will be marked as spam. One word or IP per line. It will match inside words, so "press" will match "WordPress".

Update: I found a much better solution. I've used akismet. And it will work wonders. I hope this will help if someone encounter the same problem.

I'm getting spammers a lot lately. Is Akismet good? I simply don't want to waste my time deleting spam comments.

Yes, I've finally get rid 100% of the spammers.

 

duh, never mind. the newer version already has it, and I hadn't activated it. I hope this would block all the spammers.

Not only the latest version has it,all versions have it!It's a built-in plugin!

 

I use spam karma and other spam comment plugin, its free.
