I have a client who has about 15 sites. Currently he has them ste up with his main site haveing all of the product pages available. All of his other sites have a very similar index page as one of the othersub pages of his main site. All of the links for those pages lead back to his main site. Is this good, bad or neither. I would like some advice as to the best way to optomize those sites. Here are 2 of the ideas I had I had: 1. Keep the main product site as is. Turn the other sites into infomation sites. each site focusing on one of his main sites product categories. then linking to the main site. 2. focus each site on a specific category of products while keeping the main site as is with all products.
just do the following -Study the mail site and enlist all mail products as u told there are 15 sites so i think enlist 15 main product - create 1 site for 1 product and target keyword only for that product for example there is product name rose card than u can target keywords like rose card, buy rose card, rose card online etc - and write informative content for each page and target your keywords in those content. - make same thing for each product so u have 15 satellite sites which send traffic to main site. i have work on lots of site like this and it is doing well and all site is sending good traffic. let me know if u need any help all the best. -jigs
I would say both of your ideas are good. You could try incorperating the two. Have specialized information sites that sell single products, then link to the main site for related products. The key would be to have a continous flow of information for each of your specialized sites.
