How to best upgrade this wp installation

    I have just taken over an wordpress powered website. It uses wordpress 2.5.1 and I want to update it.

    What is the best way to do this?

    WordPress provides upgrade details and should tell you step by step on how to complete it. Is there any questions you have in particular? There's no real "best" way to upgrade WP unless it was installed using Fantastico or Installatron or something, then you can just click a button to upgrade it.

    thanks I will give it a good read. Unfortunately it was not installed via any installation script. I just moved it over to my server and look now to get it up to date.

    If you have the FTP information correct, doesn't 2.5 have the one click upgrade from the dashboard ?

    Yes there are a few files you don't want to delete so make sure you read the upgrade directions. I have done a few and it is really easy once you know which files to keep.
