Hi all, I realised the other day that quite a few people have registered their email addresses with my site and I would like to take the plunge and get into setting up a mailing list. I have managed to find a few tips about this, but nothing definitive. Can anyone either give some suggestions, or a link to somewhere, where I can learn: How best to set it up from the beginning What sort of content I should be considering (whole posts, part posts, mention stuff which is/isn't on my site) Whether to and how to add advertising How to ensure people stay subscribed Etc. Any information would be great. TIA
What I do is I just use PPC to get traffic to my splash page. Another great tip is to use a tool called "pay with a tweet" The subscribers can download your product if they tweet it, which results in a chain on people tweeting it. 1 tweet>2 tweets>4 tweets>8 tweets>16 tweets>32 tweets>64 tweets>128 tweets etc.
Thanks for the reply. However I do not have a product to sell. I am writing articles which I should've mentioned.
Find something to give away for free: 1. Set up a squeeze page so they can enter their name and e-mail to get that free e-book,video, course ect.. 2. Drive traffic to the sqeeze page 3.. conversions.. It may take some tweaking to make it work at first.. To have them stay subscribed offer them value.. a combination of free tips ect with a "pitch" e-mail.. (affiliate product).. you want to make sure your autoresponse series is set up.. Most people go with aweber for an autoresponder..
This is one of tough process, MAKING mailing list. I really afraid this. From my side, traffic is everything build it from all ways where;s possible.
You can always use: Feedburner! Really easy to set up. But I use MailChimp.com (quite advanced, not easy like Feedburner to setup). By the way, to keep your subscribers stay subscriber - Just don't annoy them. Send useful mails that are worth reading. Give some free goods. Expose them to premium content(if you have). That's it
