How To Become A Trusted Dp Member?

Discussion in 'General Marketing' started by DJuse, May 15, 2007.

Im not that new to DP but just recently started to participate in the site and also to used it to trade, buy and sale some stuff.
    Now this is the thing.
Reading trough some topics i found out that there are a lot of fake people in here, wish make it very difficult for someone new like me to be trusted by the older members and buyers/sellers.

I would like to hear advises and opinion from the older members of this forum.
First: How can i protect myself from this kind of people?
Second: How can i become a trusted member?

I know that it's almost impossible to be completely safe, but at least some advises will be appreciated.

    Thanks.

Partake in discussions in areas which you are knowledgeable and if you have sold something to someone before tell them to recommend you or something. Only 2 I can think of off the top of my head.

I think you can become a trusted member by giving to the community and by helping others. This way, you will gradually increase your post count as well as your Rep Points and will make friends here who will support you or trust you, which can help you if you sell services later on.

Become a trusted member by helping people out with problems, give them guidance and advice, on topics you know about. Also if you have bought anything in the past that has resale rights then offer it to people for free.

Do not spam the boards or get into arguments with others.

    Hope this helps.

Trust is built one step at a time. It takes patient, human participation in this forum (not just lurking) and doing that in a way that's helpful and interesting to others.
As for itrade - that's a bit harder I think. But the basics are the same here too: don't fool other people and only do deals where you can deliver. Itrade is harder because private deals aren't counted towards itrade. Only deals done in a forumthread count.

I believe that "helping others" is the key.
As for the itrade, well the little deals i have done in here, ass soon as the transaction is closed i had left a good one, but so far no one leaved it to me, i believe that some people in here just dont one others to have it, because the more itrades you have the more you sell and the less the other have the less they sell.
I just think that it's honest to left a good feedback if you are happy with the deal and will continue doing it....!

Thanks for the replies you guys...I hope to hear more opinions for other peoples because i really like DP and im planning to stay here and learn from the good people of this site. And of course help in any way i can.

To become a trusted member here you need good reputation points, high itrader, be an active member, help out other members and not scam :).

Also I think one should use their full name in order to brand themselves. It really helps if you do that.

Not only should you be helpful and friendly around the forums, a good record of happy clients is also great (so they can back you up)

I am new to this forum but here's something which you can always do to create trust and be safe as well:

    1) Show of your integrity by doing and showing honesty around here.

    2) Have a pure and right intention of helping others.

    3) Explore your skills, talents and capabilities so that the other members know that you are the real deal and not some fake.

    4) Share your results here so that it's easy for the community to trust you and put faith in you.

    5) Check for the above 4 points while you are evaluating someone for being real or fake :)

    1. You need to have the respective domain knowledge when you are getting into any trading / buying in the marketplace. The more knowledge you have in that specific area, the lower the chance you will be scammed by the others. For example, when buying a text link, always check if the PR is fake and analyze the backlinks to that page. You can gain the knowledge by learning the mistakes from the others (take a look at our Feedback sections for occasional scam report & lessons learnt).

    2. This takes time. You do not necessary need to help out people in the forum to gain trust. The fundamental is in participating in the discussion with your honest opinions and suggestions. Do not engage yourself in any dishonest act just to earn extra bucks..

One great way to build up your trust is not to lose them

Rosiee007 have explained it clearly. A trusted member is the member provoking trust and the only way to make it is being helpful and supportive.
