Hello Dear Forum Members, I want to startup my small online business, I'm making own graphic novels and comic books and I have a website (hosting and domain I bought from USA GoDaddy) where I want to sell my novels for 0.99 cents each, because they will be only electronic formats like .pdf, .epub files. Payment method will be through Paypal, I had study in United States for couple years as international student, I'm have left USA and went back home I'm living currently in Central Asia. I opened my Paypal account while study years in USA. Our country is Non Paypal country. System is like this, even if people will decide to purchase my comicbooks I'll receive payment to Paypal then I'll send it my friend in USA(trustful person) then he will gonna send me through Western Union or MoneyGram. So, I have a only website no any office in USA, I have a house in my town where I'm living now. Now, my question is how should I have to be with taxing (taxes)? Some friends told me I have to register as a company first but that is expensive and I truly don't know how my comicbooks will be famous and will people gonna buy them? You know how it's competitive market. But I want to try officially and lawfully I need you advices and suggestions dear friends Thank you.

    Alex,

Firsly, your country is not supported by Paypal! When you're logging in your account, the risk of putting your accounts into the "LIMITED" group increases. Then, you will need to take some steps in order to have your account restored. You must provide some information, what you're selling, why, and in later phase, verify again your account with your ID or passport. As you're from a non-supported countries, your account will not be restored.

Secondly, you can always be scammed by a friend, no matter truftful or not :)

And lastly, I'm 23-year-old guy. I don't read comics. Usually, little children do that. Can you think of a new way to make profits from your comics 'cause these children cannot use Paypal, too!
Hint: Children usually have a mobile phone. So, it would be better for you and your customers to implement payment with 1 SMS instead of Paypal. ;)

You don't need to register a business. You have to use your real name to set up a business. So the business can "Sam CentralAsia's Comic Books" assuming your name is Sam Centralasia. You would collect and pay taxes only for the state in which you reside, or in this case your alleged good trustworthy friend. I don't know which particular system works in your country, I know google has a check out system and there are other systems, but he point being that I would not use a friend for this. If you sell directly I don't think you would be liable for any taxes in the US, just your native country.
