Sometimes, I still have difficulties to elect to right section.
I recently saw a SEO matter thread in the SEO section and get an infraction for posting in the wrong place.
    Any thoughts?

    1. There are over a 100 sub-forums. Take 15 minutes to read each description.
    2. When you post, search first for identical or similar threads and note in which forum they are.
    3. Use your best judgement.

Us mods know there not always one single most best spot for a thread so we will let you off the hook if it was debatable. We're not here to dish out infractions willy nilly, it would be a waste of our time.

If you have put 20 seconds thought in where it should go and in your opinion it's the best place to go then there's a 99.9% chance it's indeed the best place to go.

As far as the SEO section is concerned, if the focus lies on SEO related to YOUR SITE (intitle: Google + My site or Why Does Yahoo Not Like Me etc.), then it should go in the reviews section. If you don;t mention your site, or you show this phenomenon happen to a bunch of sites then it's OK to go in the atcual SEO forum.

Below every forum category is a description of what topics should be discussed there. Members are often too lazy to read them that's why they have the tendency to make off topic posts and receive infractions.

 that would add up to more than an entire day!

EDIT: wait, did you mean 15 minutes to read all? that must be it.

I meant what I said. It will take around 15 minutes in total to read the descriptions of each and every forum. Not the entire forum, obviously.

This is the thread I was talking about:
    http://forums.digitalpoint.com/showthread.php?t=222908

I didn't mention MY WEBSITE itself except that I pointed to it since my question was related, in my opinion, to a SEO problem that I have with that particular site. Even though, it is under the reviews section -i.e : review -> SEO -. Could you confirm my mistake in this case so I can avoid it in the future.

That was no that clear in my mind. Sometimes, as I have no doubt whatsoever about some sections, some others give confusion, at least for me.
Specially if it's about a subject you're not confortable with. An exemple could be, for a newbie, asking how to make a web page. Should he ask in the HTML section or in the PHP section, knowing that he has no clue about what is a web page. (a fictious exemple since there's no HTML section on DP)

Having written this, it is not a huge problem anyway and most of the time I'm good.

I was the one who moved your post. Your post is all about your site (the way it's written at least) so it belongs in the reviews section.

Oh ok. So I guess it was under the wrong section at the first place.
    That's probably why
It looked good to me under the SEO section. My fault and apologize then...
