How To Be Safe When Buying Large Price Domains

    Hey Guys,

I'm sure it's somewhere on this forum, so please don't flame me with the 'use the search', i have - but haven't found specifically, or conclusively what i'm looking for.

I'm looking into buying a PR 7 domain with a hefty price tag (though a good deal, considering). What are the best ways to verify it's not a scam? The user doesn't have a huge iTrader history (less than 10). He's posted on the blog for me, and changed the whois info for me to show he has control. He's even willing to sell through escrowdns.com.

I'm worried that a) i'll lose the site shortly after purchasing (recently happened to me - it just vanished from my godaddy account)
    b) it will lose the PR after transfer. It has a PR 8 link, and a few other PR links but at this price - I'd lose my mind if it lost it's PR - since that's the whole reason for purchase.

Thanks for your help in advance.

    a) Use escrow for secure domain transfer (escrow.com, sedo, afternic,...)

    b) check also if this domain is not banned from google .. if you lose the PR, that is the normal risk you will be faced...

First, I don;t get why people pay high prices for high PR websites. I don't think the PR what makes a domain valuable. Considering that's not my business, the best way is to use escrow.com or any escrow services sedo, etc..
There's no guarantee that the PR will persist, it's a chance you are taking and considering the PR update just happened couple days, the website will most likely keep it but there's no guarantee.
Good luck, also if you are interested, i have few of PR5 + domains that are for sale.

Escrow is by far the best option or you can go for domain buy service like the one that GoDaddy offers. It may charge you a little but it will be secure.
