I think actual verifiable traffic is more important than Alex and PR and all that. No traffic means no sales.
My highest traffic site has an Alexa rank of just under 100,000 and two of my lowest traffic sites have Alexa ranks below 50,000 so I don't place a lot of faith in Alexa ranks.
Who cares where you rank in Alexa, it wont make your site more popular or more money... look at your website stats if you want something to feel good about!
fifteen hundred to twenty five hundred a day is more than enough for you to surpass the top hundred mark ;-)
Well alexa is a factor thats taken into account when selling text link ads.. so for that reason , important!
At what point is the short shot worth the extra buck? For example I got a good friend.. sells the sh*t out of links... If he combines all his income for one month (thousands) on all his sites for links he sold, he only touches 1 days of one of my best sites income from paid ads (not links). I never care what Alexa is doing, nor do I sell links for PR. I first build great sites for users, I sell ads, products. I never go at it like a mom & pop biz, I look at my sites like I'm going to take them public. L
