i have a new website,i want to be in google top 10 results,what can i do except social bookmarking and directory submission?

1. you can submit articles in top directories
2. do commenting
3. do forum posting
4. get links from squidoo lenses and hubpages (use web 2.0 sites for linkbuilding)
5. creating blogs and getting links from them

Its just not about links there are a series of techniques to get your site ranked well in the search engines

 

Link building is the story which is never gonna end over the net and websites with better links stand higher in the search engines.

 

Plenty of good quality content will have you ranking well over time.

Backlinks from other websites, directories, articles. It takes a lot of time and investment to reach the front page for high competition niches. You can rank much easier for keyphrases though.

 

Article submission, social networking, classified ads, press release, online groups and blog commenting helps. Just make sure to get back links on relevant and DoFollow sites because Google gives more value on them.

It also depends on your domain name. If your domain name is just right, you MIGHT be able to top those

Also try starting off with long-tail keywords which you will find you can rank highly for much easier.. so you will start getting traffic sooner (albeit smaller).

If your ideal keywords are included in the long-tail (ie: animation software) it won't be long before you also start ranking better for the keywords you are after.

So for example if i used "free 3D animation software" and optimized for this phrase, i would also in effect be optimizing the same page for "free 3D", "3D animation", "animation software", "free 3D animation", "free animation software", "3D software" and so on.. which are much more competitive..

If you find you are able to optimize for a long-tail keyword then step it up and try more and more competitive keywords..
