Find the section you want to edit, look for "Volunteer to edit this category" and fill out the application.

From what I understand there is always an automated thank you reply. Did you check your spam filter?

They havent check your submission yet. Cus all of the editor submission is answered, positive or negative.
dont try again until you get e-mail from DMOZ

How do you know that? I seem to recall a meta editor saying that all editors applications are reviewed within a few weeks.

Not quite true. Certainly, most are reviewed within a few weeks, yes, but some applications wait longer, for example if they are in a language understood by few of the volunteer meta editors or catmods.

And just to confirm, ALL applicants receive feedback after their application is reviewed, but unfortunately many people apparently forget to change their spam settings and/or to check the filter for DMOZ mail.

It's hard to be a DMOZ editor.

It's not hard at all. As I already explained in an adjacent thread,
The only requirements are honesty, a willingness to learn, and an interest in building a useful directory. Very easy. :)

When did you reply? After two weeks I think you can get a status report from RZ (there should have been a link someplace in the application process).

Gmail at least has not added DMOZ to the spammer list... I wonder if any has (save maybe AOL, LOL). Not much mail should be going out from the ODP, it's not like they contact anyone for any other reason ;) So really, I don't think it's a matter of spam.

Just out of curiosity, what benefit does one receive from being an editor on DMOZ?

nothing except the satisfaction of 'voluntarism'

gworld thinks you get paid a lot of money, but if you become an editor you will soon see how wrong he is.

Read the guidelines to becoming an editor and follow them when referring your 3 sample sites.

I guess I will have to type this again, but a lot slower this time as you are not very bright:

I am NOT an editor. I have never been an editor.

Did you get it this time?
