Hi, I have a page on facebook, having more than 19k fans, There are few people who spam by posting links, I am unable to ban those people. Though I am admin of that page. When I click on their names, I went on their profile page. Please Help!
I did some research and from what i can gather, there currently isnt an option to ban people from your facebook fan pages. All your able to do in these situations is report and remove the post via flagging it. In my searching i also found that this has been a commented area of problem for quite some time now, well over a year in fact, which surprises me that facebook still havent given this option some thought yet. But they may have and are trying to implement it, we will just have to wait and see. But for now, the manual removal of such posts is the only option available to you. Of course im sure if someone knows something i dont, they will gladly inform you as id also like to know if there is something i have missed
As long as you're an admin of the Page, you can ban someone. Follow these instructions... Go to the Fan Page and on the left-hand-side there's photos of some of the members. Click "See All" and you'll see a list of all your Fans. Click the X icon next to the member you want to ban You'll get a confirmation box asking you to confirm you definitely want to remove them In this box is a checkbox that says "Ban Permanently" - check this and the member won't be able to become a Fan of your Page again, which means they can't post on the Page's Wall either Hope that helps!
Ahh now that makes more sense now, as one of the things consistantly mentioned in the research i did was how the main problem with FB is the lack of being able to search for a persons name via a search button. There was much frustration from people as they had to spend quite some time searching through each page of members tryinng to find the one person they wanted to ban out of 20k plus fans. Yes, that is VERY annoying... you can't search for Fans. But they appear in the list in the order they joined your Page (newest first) so if they just recently joined to spam your Page, then they should be at the beginning of the list
Ahh well some more info i didnt know, lets hope that in the event i need to remove someone from one of my fan pages, that i dont have a sleeping spammer who signed up a long time ago before deciding to start spamming or such haha. Thanks for that James
