Hey Friends, I have a blog site. I like wordpress. So I have installed wardpress in my blog. I want to create a backup point so that I can restore my current website design and styles at any time. But I don't know how to do it. Can anyone help me ? Any suggestion will be great for me.
All you need to do is download all WP files from your FTP and export your database from phpMyAdmin (or WP → Tools → Export).
There's quite a few Wordpress plugins that can do this easily. Once you've installed it all that it needs is a few details and it backs it up to the server you installed wp on or it can also send you a backup file to email daily weekly or on specific days for example.
I recommend and use WP-DBManager It's also necessary to backup the contents of the directory /wp-content and all its subdirectories if you want to be able to restore easily. You can do that using any ftp program or the cpanel file manager.
The best I ever used id Duplicator. It works flawlessly. I only fails once using it. And in the end, no tools would work. So I would assume it is not the failure of Duplicator. You Should try it.
I would recommend you to free sign up through this website. You'll learn how to backup and restore a WordPress even you know nothing about html coded. The best part is, you'll learn how to install WordPress on A VPS server for free. Take the right move. Let's go!
Just to let you know, You can download a backup plugin for free on wordpress and download the backup on your computer if you want...
I'd recommend using a backup plugin like Backup Buddy, which backups all the data, theme files, plugins, images, etc. Here's a great tutorial for setting up that plugin - http://www.wpkube.com/how-to-backup-your-wordpress-blog-using-backup-buddy-plugin/ Cheers, Dev
Unfortunately the WP-DB-Backup plugin I was using ONLY works great for backing up the database properly and easily. What I needed to do was add in the WordPress Backup Pluginfrom Blog Traffic Exchange to backup the site itself. If your blog is small enough the backups can be emailed to you. This solution fulfills all the requirements on the list, but it takes 2 plugins.
